Öpik Pays Tribute To Air Ambulance Cool Heads On Hot Days

Lembit Öpik, MP for Montgomeryshire, today paid tribute to the Welshpool Air Ambulance and to Dry-It-Out Ltd as he oversaw the handover of an air conditioning unit to the ambulance team.
The unit was donated by Dry It Out Ltd of Churchstoke. It is designed to keep air ambulance staff cool when they're waiting to be scrambled on an emergency job.
Commenting today, Lembit said:
"It's extremely generous of Dry-It-Out to give this unit to the air ambulance and it will make an enormous difference to the emergency team.
"The air ambulance unit has made an extraordinarily large contribution already, even though it only started a few weeks ago. On average they're doing four jobs a day.
"The emergency team do a wonderful job with very humble facilities. This air-con unit is all part of improving the quality of their facilities.
"These lifesavers spend long hours between jobs doing paperwork and other necessary actions in a boiling hot portacabin. The public would be quite surprised to see how basic the facilities are for people who have to be on top form at all times because lives literally depend it.
"So many thanks should go to Dry-It-Out Ltd. They have a strong reputation for quality products and this is no exception. Thanks to their generosity, our air ambulance team will be able to keep cool heads on hot days."
