Lembit Öpik receiving cheque on behalf of MNDA
Lembit Öpik MP today thanked local people for their fundraising efforts after a total of £3,650 was raised for local charities at a Charity Fly-in and Summer fair.
Commenting after the cheque presentation at Sherlowe Airfield, Lembit Öpik said:
"I'm so grateful to all the people involved in organising and helping out with the Charity Fly-in and Summer Fair. It was a spectacular event and I want to thank everyone who supported us by attending on the day. This much needed money will go towards helping those with long term illnesses."

Notes to Editors
· The cheque presentation took place at Sherlowe Airfield near High Ercall on Monday 24th September. The Motor Neurone Disease Association and Hope House Children's Hospice received £1,700 each. The remaining £250 was donated to the Pancreatitis Supporters Network
· The Sherlowe Charity Fly-In took place on Saturday 7th July 2007. The event was combined with a Summer Fair and open to visitors by road as well as by air.
· Various attractions on the day included a jazz band, vintage vehicles, the Wartime Aircraft Recovery Group exhibition, one of RAF Shawburys helicopters, a display of birds of prey, stalls, competitions plus visiting aeroplanes and helicopters.
