Local and Regional Assembly Members have arranged a public consultation meeting on the Draft Regional Transport Plan in Newtown on October 23rd. Representatives of TraCC, the consortium of Mid Wales local authorities responsible for transport in the region will attend to give a presentation on the plan, which was published at the beginning of October.
Mick Bates, Assembly Member for Montgomeryshire said "This is an important opportunity for people in Montgomeryshire to hear about the main elements of the Regional Transport Plan, ask TraCC questions about it and provide their comments. TraCC have organised their own public "open session" to consult on the plan in Llandrindod Wells, but the Mid Wales Regional Assembly Members agreed with me that most Montgomeryshire residents would find this too inconvenient if not impossible to get to. We are therefore very grateful that TraCC has agreed to take part in the meeting which we have arranged in Newtown. The venue is quite near the station, so we hope it will be easy for people from Welshpool and Machynlleth to attend."
The meeting will take place in the United Reformed Church Schoolroom at 7 pm on Thursday October 23rd. Tea and biscuits will be provided afterwards.
