Montgomeryshire AM praises town council after re-opening of Welshpool Tourist Information Centre

Commenting after attending the re-opening of the Welshpool Tourist Information Centre, Montgomeryshire AM Mick Bates stated:

"Welshpool is the gateway to Mid Wales and I am delighted that Welshpool Town Council has safeguarded the future of this Tourist Information Centre. With lots of new developments in Welshpool the centre will remain a key source of advice for visitors on the variety of local attractions, accommodation and facilities in the surrounding area.

"Tourism Information Centres play a significant role in furthering the economic success of an area and are crucial if we are to protect and support our local businesses through the current economic crisis.

"I was pleased to attend the re-opening of Welshpool Tourist Information Centre and I congratulate all stakeholders, in particular Welshpool Town Council, who have had the vision and dedication to work together to retain this valuable facility."
