The new Rotary Club of Machynlleth is hosting a festival day of events and activities to bring together local organisations, businesses and charities, to showcase the beauty, benefits and facilities of the local area and its community within Mid Wales.
The Rotary Club was set up to help serve the local community and the event provides an opportunity for people within the Dyfi Valley to join together and produce a substantial event that will bring people into the area, and raise the profile of those involved.
Local MP for Montgomeryshire, Lembit Öpik, wants to encourage businesses, community groups and organisations to get involved in the event. Commenting on the "Big Do" he said:
"This is a great opportunity for local people to showcase the brilliance of Machynlleth, and publicise their organisation or business.
"The more organisations involved on 18th August the bigger the interest in Machynlleth will be, both from local residents and from visitors to Mid Wales during the Summer.
"I hope that the residents of Machynlleth will join together to celebrate the beauty of Mid Wales and publicise the opportunities and activities available in the area and from the community."
