Shadow Minister for the Environment and Sustainability, Mick Bates AM, is pleased that the Welsh Government has arranged a workshop on the Draft Flood and Water Management Bill to be held in Llandrindod Wells and is urging stakeholders to attend to discuss the proposals and the implications for Wales.
The workshop will be held at the Pavilion Conference Venue in Llandrindod Wells on July 14th 2009.
Commenting Welsh Liberal Democrat Mick stated:
"Last month I wrote to the Minister Jane Davidson to express my concern that no workshop had been arranged for Mid Wales. This would have left a vast part of the country out of the consultation process on the Draft Flood and Water Management Bill which will have significant implications for Wales.
"There are a number of issues under the draft bill which are area specific, such as the different water companies involved and the impact of the Draft Flood and Water Management Bill on cross border issues. It is therefore crucial that we ensure the best possible representation from every part of Wales into this process.
"I am pleased that the Minister listened to my concerns and has arranged a meeting in Mid Wales and I would urge all stakeholders and interested parties to attend."
